Shabnam Nohesara, (MD) is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at IUMS and psychoanalyst. She is Residency Program Director of the Department of Psychiatry and Director of Student`s Health and Counseling Division, Director of evaluation & Accreditation Division of the School of Medicine. She is a graduate of ACAP-NJ in New Jersey.

Dr. Nohesara is the Associate Editor of Psychoanalytic Discourse journal and currently works at Psychotherapy Department at the Faculty of Psychiatry where she lectures on psychoanalytic psychotherapy to psychiatry residents. She specializes in psychoanalytic psychotherapy with adults, and supervises psychology interns and trainees.

She has presented on a wide range of topics such as creativity, psychoanalytic relationship and psychoanalytic attitude towards psychopathology.
